Privacy Policy

Plain English: what we collect, why, who else sees it, and how to opt out. Your working pattern and holiday figures never leave your browser.

Effective 12 September 2026

Who we are

HolidayEntitlementCalculator.com is operated by Digital Signet Limited, 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. Digital Signet Limited is the data controller for this site. Contact: [email protected]. This site is independent and is not affiliated with ACAS, GOV.UK or any employer.

What we collect

This site has no accounts, no logins and no sign-up forms. The calculator runs entirely in your browser: the hours you work, your shift pattern, start and leaving dates, and any figures about your employer are never sent to us, never stored on a server, and never written to browser storage. That matters here, because people often use this tool when they are in a dispute with an employer. Nothing you enter is visible to us, and there is nothing for anyone to request from us about it.

Aggregate analytics. Google Analytics 4 records your visit (page viewed, referring page, device type, approximate location by country or region, and a pseudonymous identifier) so we can see which pages are useful. IP addresses are anonymised.

Advertising cookies. On pages that show an ad, our advertising partners may set cookies or read advertising identifiers in order to select and measure those ads.

How this site is funded, and your choices

This site is free to use and is supported by display advertising. Ads are served by Journey by Mediavine (operated by Mediavine, Inc.) together with a network of authorised third-party advertising partners. The current partner list is published at mediavine.com/ad-partners and mirrored in this site's ads.txt file. Those partners use cookies, mobile advertising identifiers and similar technologies to select, deliver and measure ads, including ads tailored to your interests based on your activity across different websites and apps ("interest-based advertising"). What you type into the calculator is not passed to any advertising partner, because it never reaches us in the first place.

UK and EU visitors. Our advertising partners rely on your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), collected through Mediavine's Consent Management Platform, the banner shown on your first visit. You can change or withdraw consent at any time through that banner, or by clearing this site's cookies.

US visitors. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended (CCPA/CPRA) and similar state laws, interest-based advertising can count as a "sale" or "share" of personal information. You can opt out using the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" control in the cookie banner, by turning on the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser, by opting out at optout.aboutads.info, or by emailing [email protected]. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

Providers, retention and your rights

A small number of providers process data on our behalf: Cloudflare (DNS, security and hosting), Google Analytics (aggregate site statistics), and Mediavine (advertising). We are a UK controller and most readers are in the UK, but those providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where UK or EU data protection law applies to a transfer, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy arrangements or standard contractual clauses.

We hold no personal data of our own. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months and then aggregated or deleted, per our GA4 configuration. Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask for a copy of the data we hold about you (access), correct it (rectification), delete it (erasure), limit what we do with it (restriction), object to our processing, stop it being sold or shared for targeted advertising, and withdraw consent at any time. Email [email protected] and we will act within one month. You can also complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.

Children and changes

This site is written for workers and employers. It is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we change this policy we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date.

Reader questions

Your working pattern not covered above?

Rotating shifts, term-time contracts, a mid-year move between two jobs: plenty of real working patterns sit awkwardly against the general rules. Send yours and we will work it through.

01

A person reads it

Nothing about this is automated. Someone opens every message, and no case is treated as too small or too odd to look at.

02

The answer names its source

Replies quote the regulation, the ACAS page or the GOV.UK guidance we checked, so you can take the wording to your employer.

03

Publishing is your call

If your case would help other workers we may publish an anonymised version of it, and we ask you before anything goes up.

This site is a general reference on statutory holiday entitlement, not employment law advice. Where a figure is disputed, your contract terms and ACAS are the authority on what you are owed.
